Barona is building the most powerful global workforce platform and meeting point in the Nordic countries by combining for example Barona's strong international technology and recruitment expertise. The new Baronanordic.com website provides international jobseekers with up-to-date information about Barona's jobs and working and living in the Nordic countries. The site has already attracted more than 22,000 visitors in a short time, and in the future, the goal is about 40,000 visitors per month. The development of the website continues actively, and Barona is also investing in its other global services.
According to ETLA's forecast, Finland needs 44,000 work-based immigrants annually to keep the current dependency ratio unchanged. However, according to Elina Koskela, Barona's Director of International Workforce, the current pace needs to be improved. For example, the Finnish Immigration Service estimates that approximately 19,000 people will apply for their first work-based permit this year.
"Finland's attractiveness as a clean and safe country should not be overtrusted. Future political decisions, the development of official processes, and our country's ability to attract and receive newcomers will determine whether we will have enough employees in the future as well," Koskela says.
In 2022, Barona recruited over 700 employees from approximately 20 countries. The goal is to multiply international recruitment so that Barona will recruit more than 8,000 employees from abroad to Finland by 2025.
Jukka-Pekka Ylinen, Senior Vice President of Marketing and Online Business at Barona, thinks the need for labor is currently high throughout the Nordic countries. From companies' point of view, recruiting an international workforce involves a lot of uncertainties and complexity.
