As the Kotka CAM Plant project progresses, we are seeking an experienced Financial Manager for the future joint venture company. This is a key role that will support the financial foundation of both the project and the operational plant.

Finnish Minerals Group and Beijing Easpring Material Technology are proceeding with the establishment of a joint venture company for the Kotka CAM plant. Beijing Easpring will own 70 percent of the company, while Finnish Minerals Group will own 30 percent. Beijing Easpring, established in 2001, is one of the world's leading developers, manufacturers, and suppliers of cathode materials for lithium-ion batteries. Finnish Minerals Group is a state-owned special-purpose company building a responsible mining and battery value chain in Finland.

The Kotka CAM Plant represents a substantial investment of approximately 774 million euros and is expected to produce materials to meet the needs of more than 750,000 fully electric vehicles annually. With plans for future expansion, the plant will employ approximately 360 people once operational.

Your Role:

In this pivotal role, you will take full responsibility for financial management, external accounting, and financial statement preparation for the joint venture company. You will ensure the accuracy of financial reporting, develop efficient accounting processes, and provide timely and accurate financial reports to the company's leadership and stakeholders.

The position requires collaboration with external financial management partners, auditors, and regulatory bodies, ensuring that all financial operations comply with applicable standards and regulations. As part of the leadership team, you will play a crucial role in shaping the financial strategy of the company, from the construction phase to the operational phase.

Key responsibilities:

  • Managing external accounting and preparing the company’s financial statements
  • Supporting the preparation of consolidated financial statements
  • Developing and implementing efficient accounting and reporting processes
  • Collaborating with external financial management partners
  • Preparing monthly financial reports for the board and owners
  • Developing and maintaining reporting tools and ensuring compliance with reporting regulations and standards
  • Managing contacts with auditors and ensuring timely audits
  • Preparing the company’s budget and monitoring financial performance
  • Overseeing internal control processes and identifying areas for improvement

What we expect from you:

  • A Master’s degree in Economics, Accounting, or a similar field
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in financial management roles
  • Strong accounting skills, particularly in FAS accounting standards and experience in group accounting processes
  • Knowledge of project accounting and cost management in the processing industry
  • Excellent IT skills, including experience with financial management software
  • Fluency in Finnish and English; knowledge of Chinese would be an advantage
  • Experience in international collaboration and an ability to understand cross-cultural work environments
