DevOps Engineer St1

As a DevOps Engineer at St1 Nordic Oy, you will play a critical role in supporting our development team, improving our infrastructure and application security, and automating our processes. You'll work closely with our talented team of developers, utilizing a range of technologies including Terraform, Kubernetes, Google Cloud, Azure, GitHub, and more, to streamline our development and deployment processes.

Who are we looking for?

We seek a self-driven and motivated individual who is eager to develop. We appreciate if you have:

• Solution oriented mind-set with effective communication and collaboration skills.

• Will to take responsibility and has a well-organized, self-motivated, and systematic way of working.

• 1-2+ years of experience with DevOps processes and tools

• Proficient in at least one high-level programming language

• Good English language skills, both written and spoken. Finnish, Swedish, or Norwegian knowledge is considered an advantage.

• Strong motivation to always learn more.

What are your key responsibilities?

• Support developers in building and deploying applications.

• Implement and improve infrastructure and application security measures from a DevSecOps perspective.

• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions and ensure seamless automation across our development lifecycle.

• Manage and optimize our cloud environments in Google Cloud and Azure, leveraging Terraform for infrastructure as code (IaC).

• Collaborate with the team to troubleshoot and resolve any deployment or infrastructure issues

• Cloud Infrastructure Skills: Expertise in advanced cloud infrastructure technologies and techniques is seen as a plus. This includes knowledge of cloud services to enhance performance and reliability.

• Security Expertise: We value candidates with an interest in security, particularly those who have a background in application and infrastructure security. Experience with security frameworks, penetration testing, threat modeling, and implementing security protocols in a cloud environment would be a great asset.

What do your days include?

• You'll be directly supporting our development teams by helping set up, troubleshoot, and optimize CI/CD pipelines.

• Continuously refine and evolve best practices and tools. Stay on top of the latest DevOps trends and technologies and incorporate this knowledge into our operations to improve our team's effectiveness and productivity.

• Identify opportunities for automating repetitive tasks within our DevOps practices. This includes writing scripts or developing tools that increase efficiency, reduce errors, and free up time for more strategic work.

• Work within cloud infrastructure team to optimize our workflows. Help create a friendly team environment where everyone feels comfortable asking for and giving help when it's needed.

Additional information:

This position is permanent, and the workplace is located along good transport connections in our office Tripla, Pasila (Helsinki).
